Aesthetics shape perception on health systems’ ability to provide safe, quality care

Essense Collection

With years of research and collaboration behind our initiative to improve the patient experience, we are pleased to introduce our newest group of 4 patterns designed by Louise Russell, whose background is deeply rooted in color, design and research to promote well-being.

The collection is a purposeful assembly of organic and linear patterns intentionally designed to be of support to the patient.

We feel that within a hectic hospital environment or recovery unit that a consistent visual simplistic atmosphere helps to promote a sense of being and quietude. And, that the unity of a "'place'" helps to define the unity within, contributing to one’s sense of wellbeing.

Along with the collection’s visual interest based on harmonic order, we offer a palette of best-selling healing and neutral colors. The pleasing calm palette was carefully selected to blend into any existing color scheme that already exists without causing distraction.

Our new collection is "quick ship" and we are open to collaborate further to position your projects as exclusive through a collaborative design research process we are offering to design managers on projects.

Design ideas for healthcare environment

5-design-considerations-when-selecting-color-healthcare-facilities

In an environment where the chief task is to heal the sick and injured, color matters for both patients and healthcare personnel. In the report, “The Application of Color in Healthcare Settings,” by the Center for Health Design (CHD), healthcare design experts point to the influence of color in a variety of environments within healthcare facilities… (Read more)

Good design is as little design as possible

The key to good design is to subtract, not add. This has been the philosophy of everyone from Jonathan Ive and Stefan Sagemeister to Diego Armani and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The more ‘essential’ you can make a product — that is, the less designed you can make it appear — the more you’ve succeeded.

Great design is difficult to describe — you often know it when you see it. By following any of the 10 design philosophies described above, however, you will be that much closer to understanding design and the principles that guide it….(Read more)
